Welcome to Look Back Photography



Photographing the human/animal bond is my passion. Reflecting the affection shared between us and our beloved pets is my objective. Capturing that cute tilt of the head, a favorite activity, daily routines, special events or a loving expression you only see at home. I love animals. All shapes & sizes. I am fascinated by the way they think, move, relate to one another and us, their humans.

As a natural light photographer I do not require a special studio, scary equipment or employ the use of bright frightening flashes. I shoot using the natural light available thus creating a unobtrusive and comforting session for your pet. Giving you a choice of locations we can work together to ensure your vision is achieved.

What happens at a session? I bring my camera & lenses, armed with treats, engaging toys and a positive attitude. The session is casual, stress free and dare I say ... fun? The sessions will generally be two to three hours long. The first 30 minutes is usually time to get to know each other, relax and getting your pet used to the sound of my camera & my presence. I try to keep things free flowing and easy which will facilitate you and your pet to relax.

If you are unsure of a location beyond your home, I have many I would be happy to suggest. Ranging from rustic riverfront property, rural farmland, or park like landscaping. Because natural light is the key to my photography we will work together to determine not only the the best location but the time of day (early morning or evening) and weather for the best results. Living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest our weather may create havoc in scheduling - I am flexible and can accommodate rain delays. If the session is scheduled at your home, I may request a pre-session visit so together we can decide which rooms will provide the best lighting and aesthetic appeal.
